It was a day of learning, creativity, and impact as Leos from Region 3 & 4, alongside members of the Calabar Cluster Region, marked the International Youth Day 2026 celebration with the theme:  Different Contexts, Different Aspirations: Empowering Leos for Service and Self-Reliance.
The event, held in Calabar, drew notable Lions leaders including Lion Godwin Udoh one  of Calabar Cluster Region, Lion Ekwere Essien, Leo Liaison/Coordinator for the International Youth Day, and  Lion Lindy, Calabar Atakpa Leo club Leo Advisor. Other invited guests were also in attendance to encourage and mentor the Leos.
The training session was anchored by Lion Bobby Ekpenyong of Calabar Unique Lions Club. Leos were taken through practical sessions on AI Graphics Design, Photo Editing, and Music Production skills designed to equip them for service and self-reliance in the digital age.
The atmosphere was electric. Leos were excited and eager to learn new skills. Highlights of the celebration included:
- Interactive games where gift items were presented to Leos
- Hands-on sessions where Leos and Lions created birthday graphics together
- Music production practicals where Leos produced their own music
- Interviews and feedback sessions capturing the voices of young leaders
- Lots of fun, laughter, and networking
It was indeed an interesting and well-packaged event. Due to time constraints, not all planned activities could be completed, a clear sign of how engaging and impactful the program was.
Leos left the venue inspired, with new digital skills, renewed energy for service, and a stronger belief that Lions Club is a club for everyone. It was an opportunity to learn, grow, and be empowered for the future. The Leos of Regions 3 & 4 have set the pace, and the message is clear: Digital Youth, Digital Impact.
