In a demonstration of compassion and responsive leadership, the Second Vice District Governor of Lions District 404A2, Lion Sir Anthony Adeojo, MJF, NLCF, led a delegation of Lions on an inspection visit to the landslide-affected community at Anansa Street, Diamond Hill, Calabar, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The delegation included the Region Chairpersons of Regions 5, 6, and 7, along with other dedicated Lions who visited the site to assess the extent of the devastation caused by the recent heavy rainfall.

The disaster has had a profound impact on the community, claiming lives in Ikot Anwatim, displacing several families from their homes, and triggering a major landslide that has disrupted movement, damaged infrastructure, and placed surrounding homes at significant risk.

The inspection visit reflects the unwavering commitment of Lions District 404A2 and the Calabar Cluster Regions to stand in solidarity with affected residents during this difficult period. Beyond assessing the situation, the visit reaffirmed the organization s dedication to humanitarian service, community support, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in responding to emergencies.
